SWIMMING, BIKING, and RUNNING TO VICTORY Sims’ 11 seen post race at USAT Nationals in 2013 where she qualified for both sprint & olympic distances at only 20 years old with a time of 2:55. The Olympic distance is 1.5 kilometer (1 mile) swim, 40 kilometer (25 mile) bike, and 10 kilometer (6 mile) run. “Coming off the bike you’re trying to do all these calculations of like how much time your run has to take,” said Sims. “I’m doing a half Ironman this summer so I am looking forward to that.” Photo courtesy of Katie Sims '11
